I used your post as a little pre-writing warm-up today. Hope your Rough Draft Challenge is going better than mine. Your words have me hopeful, though!

I love that you talk about intrinsic motivation. This was one of my cornerstones in teaching & now it's why I write. Definitely all about the joy of the process.

You also touched a nerve with #3 about imposter syndrome. Guilty! I have used the phrase - I don't know what I don't know - to numerous people I've been seeking advice from this week. I had no idea it was entrenched in imposter syndrome! Your words encouraged me that perhaps I know more than I think I do.

I can also relate to #9 about exercising the writing muscle. I have yet to balance my WIP and my Substack in a productive and effective way. Still hoping!

Thanks so much for sharing these tips. I take all the writer's tips I can get. I store them away and pray I can find them at just the right time. Some of your tips were the right words at the right time. I know the rest will hit when I'm on a different leg of the journey.

Good luck and best words with your WIP❣️

I'm so glad they were helpful! I did have a list of nearly 30 tips that I had to cut down or combine for this article haha. These ten pretty much cover the over-arching themes though.

My writing is going pretty well. I'll be posting a week one writing journal tomorrow so you can see a day by day account of my writing.

Ooohhh! How brave! Public accountability! We’ll see if you can inspire me enough to share. If I hit today’s goal, I may be tempted!

Glad to hear you have more tips. Perhaps a Part 2 and Part 3?

Looking forward to seeing your journal!

Best words❣️
